Kanye West‘s Donda isn’t exactly in need of a helping hand; the album struck gold in less than a month and remains in the top 5 on the Billboard 200 chart. Nevertheless, Kanye’s latest release still got a nice boost on social media this week.

As Facebook, Instagram and WhatsApp — all of which are owned by Facebook, Inc. — suffered major outages on Monday (October 4), Jack Dorsey, founder and CEO of Twitter, took to his (active) Twitter account and trolled his fierce rivals by tweeting out a link to Kanye West’s “Off The Grid.”

Dorsey (or simply “Jack,” as he’s known to the world) initially laughed at his competitors’ technical woes by responding to a tweet about Facebook’s domain being for sale. “How much?” he jokingly replied.

When his tweet, which currently has over 25,000 retweets and 80,000 likes, went viral, Jack followed up by posting a SoundCloud link to Kanye, Fivio Foreign and Playboi Carti’s aptly-titled Donda collaboration, imitating the way Twitter users often promote themselves underneath a viral tweet.

“Wow this blew up,” he joked. “Here’s a link to my SoundCloud.” Though not as popular as his initial Facebook troll, Jack’s “Off The Grid” tweet still amassed over 4,000 retweets and 17,000 likes.

The song itself currently has over 3.5 million plays on SoundCloud — a figure Twitter’s top dog appears to have had a small hand in. “Jack from Twitter brought me here,” read one comment, while another user wrote, “I’m just here for the facebook outage.”

This isn’t the first time Jack Dorsey has supported Donda. In August, weeks before the album’s drawn-out release, he publicly pitched an album rollout strategy to Mr. West.

“And…this is unlikely and maybe against the creative process…but it would be incredible if @kanyewest put out #DONDA as it is now and continued to update it until he feels it’s ‘finished,’” he tweeted on August 8. “So we can all witness the work evolve in real time.”

The love is mutual. In a 2019 interview with Apple Music’s Zane Lowe, Kanye West referred to Dorsey as his “favorite” founder, praising him as “just incredibly smart” and a “visionary.”

Jack Dorsey has also shown to be a fan of other rappers, regularly spreading the gospel of the likes of Nas, Kendrick Lamar and Nipsey Hussle on his Twitter account.

Earlier this year, Jack even went into business with JAY-Z by buying a majority stake in TIDAL for a reported $302 million. Hov also snagged himself a spot on the board of Dorsey’s payment company, Square, as part of the deal.
